I was going through all pictures this past weekend and came across my pictures from my week in Vancouver, B.C. over the summer.  I just love these pictures.  That weekend was full of adventure, sight seeing, shopping, laughter, and family.

These pictures make me miss Vancouver so much.  One weekend I will never forget.  If you ever have the chance to go visit, DEFINITELY recommended!

Bubbly Tuesday!

Last week I walked to my car and noticed this sweet little note on my car.  It made my day! It brought a huge smile to my face and just warmed my heart.  There is no name on the note but I have a pretty good idea who it is from.  :)

This got me thinking.... usually I am really active on Tuesday, however today I want to take a second and think about everything our country has been through in the last week. Starting with earthquakes in Colorado and Virginia and of course hurricane Irene that came through this past weekend.  My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in the north east. 

Today I want everyone to practice a random act of kindness.  This can consist of any simple act.  Some ideas for you:

* smile to every person you see

* help a neighbor with their groceries.

* pull over and help someone change a tire

* donate something you are not using

* call a friend just to say hello

I was walking down the street and noticed a car was out of time on the meter.  I had an extra quarter in my purse so I slipped it in.  Since when does a quarter only get you 10 minutes?? I am not sure but hey,  it's better than nothing right?

Take a second to ponder your thoughts and see what you can do to make someone's day bubblier just by practicing a simple act.

half marathon

I went though a huge transition in my life about a year ago which caused me to develop severe anxiety attacks.  It was finally becoming fall in Arizona and so I thought I would start running to relieve the anxiety I was experiencing.  I would run outside along Tempe town lake, I thought it was more therapeutic than running inside a crammed "bro" filled gym. In April I ran the Pat Tillman run in Tempe which was 4.2 miles.  It was an amazing experience.  It was the first time in a long time I had done something just for myself.  Not for anyone else, just me.  I didn't care what my time was I just ran the best I could. 

I have continued to run since then.  Every other day or so I head to the gym (yes i am at the gym,  as much as I would like to run outside not possible in 115 heat!) and run a few miles.  2 weeks ago I received a call from my cousin saying she is running a half marathon in October..... my response... IM IN! So hear goes,  October 9th, 2011 I will be running my first half marathon in Kelowna, British Columbia! I am beyond excited! 

I have been training for two weeks now.  Running 4 times a week, adding some cross- training, intervals, and of course distance. It has been a challenge for me but my body feels amazing.  I mean I burn about 700 calories each distant run... I can eat anything I want!! yesssss!

So hear are my new shoes I purchased this weekend.  Brooks.  Awesome. 

Each Monday I will give you an update on how my training week went.  The race is a Sunday so you better stay tuned on Monday the 10th of October for the final update :)

If anyone has suggestion for me I am wide open to them!!

DIY - bulletin board

I am so excited for this weeks challenge from The Shine Project! As you saw in my Tuesday post,  I have been doing some updates to my home.  I have been wanting to make a DIY bulletin board for months now but the right time never came around.  Once I saw Ashley's post I just knew it was bulletin board time!!

I found this huge frame from goodwill a while back for 6 dollars! It had a really ugly  old fashioned picture in it but I loved the size and for 6 dollars why not? I painted the frame black when I first got it yet never used it.

here is what you need:

* frame 

* fabric (on sale as Joanns for $3 a yard)

* stock foam board 1/2 inch. ($4)

* spray paint

* hot glue gun

I glued the fabric nice and tight around the stock foam

after gluing the fabric, I sprayed the frame with the quick drying spray paint. 

I was originally going to use duck tape to tape the stock foam to the frame however I came across some little nails in my "tool box" that worked perfect.  I nailed each corner. 

I hung the board in my "office" (lacking desk) with some black ribbon I found around the house :)

All I need now is some push pins and some fav pics to hang on it!!

super easy,  super cheap!!!

I have been eating oranges like crazy lately.  I just cant seem to get enough of them.  Not sure if it is the heat in Arizona,  or my extreme workouts lately, but I am just loving oranges.  

Lets go to an orange grove!!

Although oranges are not in season right now,  I still came across a grove....seems they are turning into lime trees.....maybe I will start loving limes? That might be a little more difficult :)

I cannot believe it is already the weekend, YESSS!! I will be relaxing and doing absolutely nothing.  sounds amazing,  right?

 Usually you all know on Friday's I link up to Ashley from The Shine Project's challenge, however this week Ash was crazy busy and didn't have a challenge for us.  NO WORRIES,  I came across Lauren at The Little Things We Do, and she has a fill in the blank Fridays!! celebration of life

Have you ever looked at the sky and wondered who was looking down at you? 

I do.  Quite often actually. 

Today is a special day,  I am celebrating a life of someone I lost who was very close to me.  A tragic accident happened to a wonderful family a few weeks ago ending in the father of the family loosing his life.  Today is his celebration of life! This got me thinking about who is up in the sky, playing with the clouds, poring out the rain, and shinning the sun.....

The energy from the sun and light in these pictures seem to have so much character. Almost as if someone was up there speaking to me.

Today is going to be a beautiful day and the sky is going to be peaceful and full of love.
