Spring Time Lipstick Colors

Untitled #15

Changing up your lipstick is a must in my books. I haven't always been this way but in the past couple of years my lip color collection has grown immensely! I posted THIS photo on Instagram a couple weeks ago about my Monday decision on what lip to sport for that day.... I go through this battle quite frequently these days. I decided to share my go to colors that are making me feel a little more 'Spring'... and yes this coming weekend is the kick off to Spring in AZ (I apologize for the rest of the country). The first weekend in February is the Phoenix Open Golf event as well as the super bowl which means hick off to spring time events & photographed outfits!

Besides the outfits the make up and especially the lips are crucial to any outfit. My number one go to that I just picked up last week is MAC Vegas Volt. It has a soft coral color that works perfect with blonde hair & fair skin. It screams Spring + can be worn with almost any outfit. Perfection.

If I am looking for a bright pink color I have been wearing MAC Hip N Happy Liner as lipstick! A. it lasts so much longer thank lipstick, and B. it doubles liner (worn with other colors) and lipstick.... 2 for 1. It gives a bright fun pink shade + photographs amazingly. I like the liner because I don't have to worry about it rubbing off or fading, so for that all day events or Sunday Fundays this is my go to.

For Spring night time events I have chosen to stick with my last years favorite Raspberry Pie from Revlon. It gives a nice deep red/pink/purple. It seems to brighten up my face + can be worn with almost any eye make -up. Revlon's Lip Butter is a nice moisturizing lipstick that will do well in the dry nights of Spring.

My final and MOST important lip (and by important I mean I own about 6 of these) is the EOS Mint chap stick! The perfect natural chap stick that repairs all damage, add moisture, and softens the lips. I will turn the car around and drive home if I forgot my little mint ball at home!

Cashmere & Camo | Black + Nude with a touch of lace

dress  (HERE) c/o Cashmere & Camo // blazer + link bracelet: Forever21 // S bracelet: Nordstrom // shoes: Steve Madden // bag: Coach // lips: MAC liner 'hip n happy'

One of my favorite things about blogging is creating blog friendships. Sometimes you get to meet in real life and become "real life friends" and sometimes you just get to be friends through the virtual world. To all non bloggers this can seem a little weird, but to anyone who has blogging besties we all know its pretty awesome to develop these friendships. This past summer I had the please to meet in blog land (not real life) the fabulous Brandy from Cashmere & Camo! Another Canadian blogger located in Calgary Albert who has the most fabulous blog. After exchanging a few emails back and forth turns out Brandy and I grew up in the exact same town in British Columbia!! We are talking a town of 50,000 people + she attended the high school directly across from my house!!! Craziness how we have never crossed paths before.

Okay enough about memory lane, more about Brandy and her fab Blog & Shop Cashmere & Camo! Brandy sent me this wonderful dress to style this winter and I was obsessed with it as soon as I opened the package! The nude + black are a perfect combination together, the lace detail is very elegant + the shoulders have padding. I think the picture say enough I dont need to ramble on anymore.

Cashmere & Camo shop is just how it sounds, a great mix of casual country and class.  It is a perfect shop for anyone looking for the unique item that your wardrobe needs, and best of all it's Canadian!

Kendra Scott | Atlantic Collection

pants: Dynamite // shirt: Nordstrom // vest: // shoes: Charlotte Russe // bag: LA // watch c/o lulus.com // bracelets c/o InPink // earrings c/o Kendra Scott // nails: Essie "meet me at sunset" // lips: MAC "vegas volt"

Last week I had the opportunity to attend Kendra Scott's launch party for her new line Atlantic! Kendra opened her Scottsdale location in December of 2012 up in the Scottsdale Quarter, perfect location for perfect jewels! She launched her Spring 2014 line Atlantic last week + the jewels are to die for. I had the pleasure to sit with Kendra herself to ask her a few questions that have been burning in my head.

Of course the first question that came out of my mouth was "Where did your inspiration for Atlantic come about?!" Kendra disclosed that she had been at the beach when she found a coral fan that she actually used as a mold for the stones. She wanted the environment such as the sun to bring out an aquatic feel which can instantly be seen once looking at the stones in the collection.

A few other questions I asked Kendra aside from her latest line was what advice she had for young designers /  or young business owners? She gave me 3 main points (although she had plenty!!)
1. put your own style / thumb print into your business. Staying true to yourself will ensure your work is unique!
2. Surround yourself with people who are supportive to you! You may not be taking the path everyone else is and it may be difficult so it is important to have people who will always believe in you and support you when times get hard.
3. Find a mentor (or multiple mentors) who can guide + give you feedback. Each time you get to a new level find a mentor who can take you to the next. Kendra still continues to find mentors as her business grows.

If you have not yet already checked out the Atlantic collection get on it asap! I promise you will love!

One of A Kind Style | Grammy's

all images via E! Online
The Grammy's are always an exciting award show to not only watch for the performances but to see what kinda of attire the musicians (and non musicians) decide to surprise us with! I am excited to team up again with Diet Dr Pepper to bring One of A Kind Style from the red carpet for who I thought nailed it with the perfect dress. Above are my favorite looks from last nights show.

The trend seemed to be sequins (similar but different colors from the Golden Globes) and warm color pallets such as lots of oranges and reds. T. Swift held herself well as she walked the red carpet looking 10 ft tall and 100lbs in the stunning Gucci gown. As Chrissy Teigen & Ciara both looked amazing in gold/rose gold sequins. There is something to be said about mom's to be in long sleeved sequin gowns this year. Giulianna Rancic looked breath taking in a daring orange Alex Perry dress while Miranda Lambert was nothing but class giving an old Hollywood feel in her bright red Pamela Rolland dress.

We all wish we could attend red carpet events or galas + wear our own floor length gown but for most of us that is not at the top of our to do lists. I went ahead and put together a couple different looks inspired by last nights fav dresses for a more everyday or for the everyday girl.

With a delicious One of a Kind taste and zero calories, Diet Dr Pepper is as unique as you are. Diet Dr Pepper celebrates originality. To check out more one of a kind stories, visit us at www.youtube.com/drpeppervideos

accessorizing with pops of color

leggings (SIMILAR) + bracelet (SIMILAR): Forever21 // sweater c/o Aeropostale // shoes (HERE): Converse // purse (HERE) c/o YesWalker // watch (SIMILAR) c/o LuLu*s // lips: MAC "Hip N Happy" lip liner

There is something to be said about a comfy pair of chucks + leggings for the perfect chic/casual outfit. I choose black on black for the winter season but I am desperately awaiting the arrival of spring (well in AZ it is spring, but for the rest of the country that doesn't seem to be the case!) so I added little pops of color to brighten up my #ootd. This fabulous Budah handbag (now on sale for 60% off!) was the perfect accessory for color + styled nicely with my fav. pair of shoes. I also added my "hip n happy" lip liner (used as lip stick, it last's longer that way!) to brighten my face just a little.

What accessories do you style with to add color to your wardrobe?!

comfy + casual weekends

jeans (SIMILAR) c/o Aeropostale // shirt + shoes: Forever21 // sweater: Banana Republic // bag: H&M // watch: MK // earrings: Aldo

As the temperatures get warmer in AZ the layered clothing has slowly shifted from long sleeve layers to short sleeve layers. Weekend style to me is a. all about comfort + b. all about casual. If you have ever read my blog (by reading I mean scrolling through my pictures) you'll know that comfortable outfits are a must for me. Sunday was a busy day of work & errand running so I threw on my favorite jeggings from Aeropostale, a loose blouse, and my oxfords for a quick out the door yet put together look. On weekends my fav large tote from H&M is always on my arm. Why is it that ladies bags are always so heavy it feels like bricks are in them! This is a mystery I dont think will ever me solved.

Happy Monday blogging beauties, make it a good one!

faux fur will always be a fav.

dress (HERE) c/o LuLu*s // vest: Forever21 // shoes (SIMILAR): Jessica Simpson // tights: Nordstrom // necklace c/o Style Lately // watch (SIMILAR): MK // bracelets: Forever21 // ring: Tiffany & Co. // lips (HERE): MAC "Lady Danger"

It's the middle of the week already?! Time is flying by, before we know it Spring will be here and it will be back to cut off's and tank tops..... my fav. apparel! But before Spring arrives we still get to play dress up in out cozy winter clothes. I am loooving this dress from lulus.com, it has been so versatile + seems to be a great option for almost any occasion. I have dressed it simple with just a pair of pumps, I have dressed it with boots, but today I decided to add a little spice by bringing my faux fur vest back to life. I know denim vests are high on the trend scale but I will always have a special place for this little faux fur beauty. Adding tights to any winter outfit is awesome if not for the warmth but the mere fact that black tights could possibly be the most slimming item a girl could own. Finally I accessorized but a bold lip, Lady Danger is always a fav, and a few jewels to polish it off. I must say this is one of my personal favorites! Happy Wednesday Blogging Beauties!!

that perfect comfy sweater

sweater c/o LuLu*s // coat + leggings: Forever21 // boots: Steve Madden // necklace c/o Le Tote // lips: MAC hip'n'happy liner

I have always wanted a sweater/sweatshirt I could just throw on and run while still looking put together. When I came across this lulu*s green black swan sweater over the summer I snagged it up immediately, it was just what I had been searching for. It was warm, long enough arms (thats always an issue, I like the arms to be extra long) and had enough texture so it gave more of a styled look to.

This week I paired the green sweater with some of my favorite jean leggings from Forever21. They are one of those items that cost maybe $12 but I can't seem to throw them away so I continue to wear them year after year. Added my combat boots and a cream jacket for the morning and I was off and on with my day. I love this outfit for the fact that it is simple, it is suuuuper comfy, and yet I don't feel as though I didn't get read. I feel good, like I can accomplish anything! I also wore this outfit all evening snuggled on the couch, so it actually acted as two outfits one for the day and comfy clothes for night time. I mean I'm sure Juan Pablo knew I looked great all cuddled up on the couch watching him make out with other chicks ;)
